Report on the conference held by NESsT

On 3rd October our crew participated in a conference which was held at the headquarters of Telekom in Budapest .
This conference was the fourth Social Businesses Day organized by NESsT. After we arrived and quickly registered we had the opportunity to look around in the building of Telekom, which was very impozing and excellent to host the conference.

After the opening speech we could listen to several presentations about the roles, importance and future of Social Businesses. After the first section there was a small coffee-break. By this time several social businesses arrived and occupied their stands so with our little group we circled the stands to look around and talk to them. As it turned out most of them are working with disadvantaged people and even employ them. But then we didn’t have much time as the next broken-down section started where I personally sat in to the marketing presentation. I could get a little bit more insight into internet marketing, sales and positioning. After this, there was a 2 hour break so everyone could eat their lunch peacefully (lunch was also made by social businesses who employ disadvantaged people). This time we had more time to talk to other participants of the conference. We heard countless good ideas, which were very inspirational and also we had the opportunity to buy their offered products from those stands who deal with product sales.

After the conference’s closing speech we all went home with a deeper insight of the roles and potentioals of social businesses

11. Civil development in disadvantaged small settlements in Zala

NCA-NYD-10-0767

We wish to expand our civil social development programs by improving small regional and micro-regional civil partnerships, organising events and conferences, improving the existing cooperations, expanding the Civil Pentecost Day in Lispeszentadorján, supporting the community-based programs of civil organizations and municipalities.

In the field of inforamtion organization our priority is to develop and operate a regional civil website at www.kerkamente.hu, content development, creating interactive services, compiling local link collections.

Also we wish to further improve our newspaper called “Kerka-menti Ízelítők” and we plan to increase its number of copies released.

We plan this year to publish the ‘Kerka-menti’ calendar too. To achieve the above goals we strive to establish a voluntary network of correspondents in the settlements along which “municipal agencies” can be formed later on.

We wish to continue our civil regional networking activities with the development of the Regional Civil Roundtable also with the maintenance and development of the website of the Public Cosultation Forums, www.parbeszed.hu.

We plan to introduce new local innovations with the support of our Austrian partner, Vulkanland Development Agency, primary in favor of local products and local economic development. In the field of training we carry on the micro-regional and subregional workshops and we organize courses in food preparation and finding traditional local food in the framework of LEADER. We also organize courses to shape the state of mind and attitude towards local production and consumption of goods. Furthermore, we continuously carry on strengthening cross-border relations with Croatia and Slovenia, maintain and develop the existing relationships and develop new cross-border projects.

12. Civil Service System along the Kerka-Mura region

NCA-CIV-11-B-0250

Our organization is doing developmental work in disadvantaged small villages, with its activities it supportsthe interests of civil organizations.

Currently there is a great need for a wider nonprofit service in small communities where active organizations are struggling with regional disadvantages. The current tender program is closely related to our organizations functioning, it helps fulfill our basic mission and the expansion of our services and the size of available target groups. With respect to the developent of our services and organisation it enables us to employ a new management staff strengthening the operation of the Lispeszentadorján civil office and also allows us to do fieldwork, that is, locally provided nonprofi services.

Planned service portfolio:

1.Non-profit, legal and management consultancy

2.Project work

3.Information and communication management

4.Office services

5.Rental of equipment

NCA-CIV-11-A-0463

The short term goal of the planned program is to involve the youth in the maintenance and operation of the civilian communication networks of the micro-regions. We wish to achieve our aim by operating electronic media (www.kerkamente.hu) and publishing a monthly newpapre called the “Kerka-Mura-menti Ízelítők”. The target group of our programs is young people who are between the age of 12 and 35 and live in small villages and completed media studies (journalism, photography, videography) or are ready to learn it.

2. Evaluation of the tender and the selection of the target group.

3. Media workshops for training volunteers a total of three times.

4. Fieldwork practice a total of three times for the volunteers.

5. The involvement of young volunteers in the operation of electric and printed media, based on a monthly schedule.

The program is expected to invlolve 20 volunteers.

14. Operating an International Project Office

NEA-NO-14-M-0600

Our organization performs developmental work in disadvantaged small village regions. With its activities it aims to support the catching up of the regions. Currently there is a great need to establish cross-border connections in small settlements that struggle with regional disadvantages. Yet few people can look beyond the borders of their municipality, therefore the regional work and coordination between the institutions, organizations and municipalities is key.

Our organization would like to meet the requirements of the developmental tasks primarily in the construction of cross-border relations towards Croatia, Slovenia and Austria which has already been undertaken by the federation of 16 local settlements along the Kerka River. To achieve the above goals it is crucial to cuntinue operating the project office in Lispeszentadorján, ensuring basic project design and proposal writing, financial planning and accounting services. In connection to this organizational developments and the expanding  of human capatities are needed, especially in order to strengthen our financial and management capacities. The project office in Lispeszentadorján monitors applications regularly and in connection to current projects it provides advice as well as practical help in writing projects.

We consider it a priority task that we initiate EGTC and EU twinning programs and cross-border model programs, and the cooperation with cross border Hungarian minority organizations as well as international consortia and cooperation. If necessary our office staff can move out for local consulting.
