About the V4 Pasture & Climate Action Project
Welcome to our project "Conserving Pastures and Halting Climate Change in Mountain Areas of V4 Countries." This multifaceted initiative aims to invigorate the mountainous regions within the Visegrad Group (V4) countries through regional development, environmental protection, and eco-friendly tourism. At the core of our project is the urgent need to address the degradation of mountain pastures, a key contributor to climate change in Central-Eastern Europe.
Through multi-stakeholder partnerships, particularly the Mountain Alliance of Pastoralists, we are coordinating efforts for capacity building, cross-border cooperation, and the conservation of both mountain pastures and the biocultural heritage of local shepherding communities. Our actions seek not only to mitigate climate impacts but also to preserve the fragile yet vital mountain ecosystems that are critical for biodiversity, water resources, and cultural heritage.
